Coloti
is situated in the Montone municipality, in Northern
Umbria, at 43 km. (27 miles) from Perugia and near
the cities of Città di Castello and Umbertide.
The highway E-45 links Montone to the main italian
highways (A1 through Perugia Valdichiana
or Orte, A14 through Cesena).
Good roads lead to the most important cities of
the region: Perugia, Gubbio, Assisi, Foligno, Spoleto,
Todi, Orvieto, Terni and to the near Regions of
Tuscany and Marche.
The regional railways Centrale Umbra lead to Umbertide
(the nearest station to Coloti), from Perugia-Ponte
S.Giovanni or Terni (junctions to the State railways).
You may as well reach Umbertide by coach from Rome
or Florence.
The nearest airport is Sant'Egidio (40 km from Coloti);
there are daily flights to/from Rome and Milan.
HOW
TO REACH COLOTI BY CAR:
leave the highway E-45 at Montone exit and take
the road to Pietralunga. After about 6 km (3,7 miles),
turn on the left and follow the indications to the
Astronomical Observatory; 5 more km (3 miles) of
a good country road lead to Borgo di Coloti.
During the winter it may be necessary to take alternative
roads; ask for information along the road or phone
us.
